Wildland Firefighting Training
If you are interested in being a part of the University of the South Prescribed fire team next year, now is your chance.
The information and registration page is live.
The prescribed fire team carries out prescribed fire on at least 200 acres of the Domain annually. These fires are intended to promote species diversity, improve wildlife habitat, and help us achieve other management goals. The training involves 40 hours of training in a mix of field and classroom time. Students will leave with nationally recognized wildland firefighting credentials and a cool t-shirt.
The class runs January 7th-11th 2019. Students will have access to their dorms, but the dining hall will be closed.

Registration will close December 15th.
